Why are we fighting the Taliban when it were Al-Qaida that attacked the US on 9-11?

The taliban want to return the country to the dark ages. Men rules, women are chattels to be used and abused as they see fit. They also give succor to Al Qaida. That is they give them a place to train. The taliban will not listen to us, and even in ignoring us they will go out their way to provide support to those that would attack us.
