George Orwell published "1984" in 1949 with dangers of totalitarianism, how haves these prophecys become true?

I'm writing an english paper on "1984" and how parts of the book have become true. It is practically impossible to find any information on it. Could someone please give me some info, so I dont bomb this paper (any websites w/ info are good too). thank you
