Calling all high school boyz & girlz!!! He wants to be more than friends but.....(10PTS FOR BEST ANSWER!!!!)?

I don't i just want to be friends.We're both in the 9th grade and as of last week he has started to try n go out with me. Before i'd see him occasionally in the halls and we were dance partners in the 8th grade, but i nvr really thought nething of him. So lately he keeps telling me how he wants to be with me.I asked him why he liked me, he said i seemed quiet for the most part,i didn't follow a crowd, and im not wild/crazy like other girls.Then he told me how he has always liked me since we met in the 8thgrade but didnt know how to approach me.So everytime we talk he says im not going to be single for long n since my b-day is coming up he told me he would be my present, and i tell him we're just friends and we are going to stay that way.Basically i dont want a relationship b/c i think in high school everything is fun n not thoughtout/pointless n after a while u both grow old n dont want to be together.Flirting is all i want 2 amount 2 which i dont do much of unless i like some1 or just returning the favor. So he told me he likes relationships more than being single b/c he can have someone to hangout with,hug,kiss etc.He has also talked to one of my friends about me and how he thinks im going to be his girlfriend soon and asked what they thought of me(like what kind of person i am). So what do u guys think?Why doesn't he just be friends with me and accept me as his friend or is he hinting at he wants me to be his girl or don't be friends at all,b/c everytime i say u could actually be a good guy friend(since i dont have many)and he says yeah but then we can take it to the next level after a while/turn into more than friends????
